The Hordern Pavilion, one of Sydney’s most iconic entertainment venues, underwent a major house lighting upgrade to meet modern performance and aesthetic standards. Lux Imperium (formerly SimpleMotion.Lighting) was appointed as the Specialist Lighting Contractor to deliver a fully integrated, DMX-based RGBW lighting system.
Working alongside design partner Jands and venue operator Playbill Venues, Lux Imperium managed the entire process — from site assessments and design collaboration to procurement, installation, commissioning, and user training. The new system features high-lumen Anolis Ambiane XP56 RGBW fixtures and ETC ArcSystem Pro Four-Cell Linear luminaires, providing silent operation, high colour rendering, and flexible programmability for concerts, corporate events, and performances.
An ETC Paradigm Control System with touchscreen and iPad access ensures user-friendly operation, external console override, and advanced scheduling. Completed between April 2023 and February 2024, the project has future-proofed the Hordern Pavilion’s lighting infrastructure, enhancing both its functionality and immersive audience experience.
